Historically, the rule has been that each team is allowed to use the cage(s) for 45 minutes after their practice ends.
Examples:
If you have practice at H1 at 5:30 you have the field until 7:00 and you have both cages from 7:00 to 7:45.
If you have practice at H1 at 7:00 you have the field from 7:00 to 8:30 and both cages from 8:30 until 9:15.
If you have OMI it is the same as above but there is only one cage (per field).
The above is the exact rule. There is obviously some unaccounted for time if you are the first team of the day and courtesy should reign.
Lee farm has two cages, one for the younger group and one for the older group. There are no cages at ISB and no provision for use of the H1 (or any other field) cages if you have a practice there.

Pre-season practices will be pre-scheduled before games begin and posted on this BLOG via the practice schedule spreadsheet. Once games begin, all practices are scheduled via the practice scheduling form on the BLOG on a first come first serve basis. Additional practices either during the preseason or the regular season may be requested but only on the scheduling BLOG FORM. Only 1 requested practice per team at a time.
Any practice requested within one day of the practice date cannot be guaranteed a response. 24 Hours is the expected turn around once practices are requested. Once practice times are assigned and confirmed, an email will be sent from schedules.omybs@gmail.com to confirm your requested practice time. It will also be posted on the practice schedule worksheet.
All fields are open for requested practices on Sunday, noting that Sunday practice is optional for players. Rained out practices do not have makeup's. If your practice is rained out, you must request a new date and time on the BLOG SCHEDULE FORM. Do not request a new practice time until the practice time has expired whether it is rained out or not. Remember, only one practice request may be active at one time. You may only request practice fields that correspond with designated fields for your age group.

Fields at Indian Springs Baptist Church are #1 on the left, #2 on the right, and #3 in the back behind field #1. Do NOT use Church facilities. Clean up trash when practice is complete.
The Instructional League will practice once per week.
Each coach MUST clean up after each practice, TRASH, FIELD TOOLS, etc..
Last coach of the day is responsible for turning off the lights and ensuring equipment is put up and locked.
Anyone looking to change a scheduled PRE-SEASON practice, can initiate a swap with someone in their age group. Each coach involved with the swap should submit a request the Blog Schedule Form. The swap will not be acted on by the scheduler until both coaches have submitted a request. BLOG SCHEDULE FORM.
As discussed in the Coaches Meeting. DO NOT assume a field is available if there isn't anyone assigned to a particular field on the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is updated regularly as new practice times are posted. The scheduling spreadsheet posted on the BLOG is the CURRENT status of every field.
Please instruct your player parents that the Scheduler is not the sounding board for comments. Direct them to contact their head coach, or AGD with comments. They are welcome to look at the BLOG and the practice schedule. They will need to know the team number to find the scheduled time for your team.
Practices at Oak Mountain Intermediate School fields 1 and 2 (OMI1 & OMI2) cannot begin before 5:30 pm on school days.
The last team to practice on a lighted field must be certain to turn out the lights at the end of practice.
Starting Saturday, March 17th (Spring Break) practices will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be no scheduled practices. 2 practice time can be scheduled per team.
Practices during Spring Break MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN MARCH 10th via the BLOG SCHEDULE FORM of the website. The Scheduling Rule for waiting to request a practice during spring break is waived. 2 practice times can be requested for this week only.
Practice Schedule Changes
It is important to consistently look at the Practice Schedule Worksheet. Changes often occur that allow prime slots on prime fields to open up. It is also important to let the Scheduler know if a team is not using a confirmed slot so we can get the most use from our fields by all teams. If a coach will not be using a practice field, please let the Scheduler know that slot can be opened up.
Spring Break Practice Schedule
The week of Spring Break allows coaches to pre-schedule up to (2) additional practices in addition to the normal (1) request during preseason. These times are on a first come-first serve basis and will fill up fast. It is best to schedule these as far in advance as possible, even though these practices are optional.
As a reminder, Spring Break does not have any PRESCHEDULED practices. Any practices during Spring Break (Beginning Saturday, March 12th through Sunday, March 20th) will only be those requested by coaches and confirmed by the Scheduler.

Scheduling Practice Time During "Dead" Week
Practice fields can be requested for the week after the regular season ends. The same rules apply as practices requested during the regular season. No team can request more than one practice at a time and no more than one scheduled practice is permitted to be scheduled. No practices will be pre-assigned this week as was the case in the preseason. All practices are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and must be scheduled through the practice request form available on the BLOG.
Canceling and Changing Practice Times
We have had several questions asking about canceling and/or changing a scheduled and confirmed practice time. To do this, the coach must send an email canceling the practice. After the coach receives an email confirmation that the practice has been canceled, the coach is then free to request another practice time using the BLOG Form. The same rules still apply and you may not request another practice until your orginal practice time has been canceled and you have received and email from the scheduler as confirmation.
Also, you cannot request another practice in case of a rain-out or if your practice is pre-empted by a make up game until the games are offically canceled. When the fields are officially closed and games are canceled, the head coach is then free to request a new time on the Blog Form.
Lastly, coaches are encouraged to be a Blog Follower. Once you sign up, you will receive instant updates from the BLOG on scheduling information and schedule updates, hot off the press.
Also, you cannot request another practice in case of a rain-out or if your practice is pre-empted by a make up game until the games are offically canceled. When the fields are officially closed and games are canceled, the head coach is then free to request a new time on the Blog Form.

Practices scheduled during the Regular Season are not guaranteed even after confirmation and can be "bumped" if games are rained out earlier an the field is needed for a rescheduled game.

Reminder on Indian Springs
As a reminder, Indian Springs fields are not available on Wednesdays or Sundays because of church services. ISB1 is not available during the week through OMYBS Season Start Date on 3/22/10.
